January’s treatments continue to go smooth with little discomfort or reactions, But !!!
There is a concerning test result on my last CT scan. My existing tumors have stopped shrinking and one has actually grown slightly. In addition, the scan showed one of my lymph nodes in my groin area has swollen slightly which is a new development. The fear is that the disease has adapted to the new drug and has found away to defend against this new drug.
One of the rules of the clinical trial I am on is that if the disease shows any sign of recurrence then I will be taken off the trial! My oncologist said that we need to get a biopsy of the new lymph node that has swollen to see for sure if it is a progression of the disease.
A lymph node can swell up for multiple reasons, a cold (of which I did have) tooth ache, infections from cuts, etc., So I am hopeful that this swelling of this new lymph node is not caused buy a recurrence of the disease.
So I am scheduled for a biopsy to see what’s going on here.
I am hopeful for a benign result and continue to eat right, exercise and do all the things to help fight this disease.
